Baseball Case Study - 762 Words

The season finale for The North Dakota Schall’s amateur baseball team was not without a few strikeouts but ended the season on a high note with 5 home runs. The game started off a little rough when Taylor, who was having a good start to wrestling season, struck out early in the 1st inning. Having had trouble with fainting, fatigue, and poor circulation in his hands and feet; Taylor was off to the doctor for some testing and to figure out what was going on. After several tests and a trip to the pediatric cardiologist Taylor was diagnosed with POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). It has been an ongoing battle throughout the season, but with medication, rest, and lots of water and salt he has more good days then bad. The†¦show more content†¦The recovery was a long process that kept him on the DL throughout the National Archery Tournament, golf season, and the start of Babe Ruth baseball. After his rehab assignment fishing at Lake LaMoure he made a full recovery and pitched and played 3rd base for the remainder of the season. The middle innings went by quickly as Team 2017 and The Schall’s exchanged quick outings at the plate. Taylor was busy pitching and catching for the high school baseball team and Keri was busy making sure everyone was healthy and at the right place at the right time. The 6th inning brought a big home run for The Schall’s when Cory was chosen as a finalist for National Coach of the Year in the sport of wrestling. He rounded the bases with his friend Eric, in-laws Tom and Virginia and attended the National Coaches convention in Peoria, IL where Cory was recognized for his coaching accomplishments. The 7th inning stretch was a welcome break for The Schall’s to spend some time at Lake LaMoure with their cross town teams. The Ehrlin and the Kelly teams provided some much needed entertainment and a break from the game. The 8th inning started off with a bang when The Schall’s hit their 4th homerun when the Oakes Legion baseball team qualified for the State Legion Baseball Tournament.
